That’s the saddest thing I’ve read all day.

PLEASE NO SCAMS!
Dude you put $10k into a 175k mile PT Cruiser and admitted to it on Craigslist - - you’ve already been scammed, and you’re going to be scammed again. It’s just a matter of who and for how much.

Guessing some variation on the sunk cost fallacy. You spend $2000 on it thinking that it’s worth it to keep from having to buy a new car, but then there’s more wrong, but you feel stupid trashing it after you just poured a bunch of money into it, and so on, until you get that $10k bill (assuming they are actually being honest).

No kidding! This is probably the guy you hear about who falls for the western union scams

Emotional attachment. They’re shite, but they sold because they struck a nostalgic chord in some people. Same with the stupid beetle. But if nostalgia brings back wagons, it’ll all be ok.

Let me be honest here -
I’d drive a fake wood grain purple PT Cruiser if I could have the turbocharged engine included in the package.
(or just say “fuck it” and swap one in)

“4 cylinder, so great on gas” - Didn’t these things get like high teens/low 20s mpg? Pretty sure they were barely more fuel efficient than a Crown Victoria.

seller forgot the decimal point should read $75.00

Ordinarily I’d say there’s nothing wrong with spending your own money however you choose. But spending enough to buy 4 PT Cruisers on one PT Cruiser is a red flag for senility.
